    Post-Hiatus Adventure with Make-up

Finally, I’m back to blogging after being away on hiatus for more than two months. I was preoccupied with personal stuff – stayed mostly at home. I’d rather leave it at that. 😉

So what’s new with me?! I finally got my most-awaited chance to go out and do stuff that I love like shopping, dining, watching movies, etc. This week, I started my driving lesson and it’s very liberating! I’m actually starting to be able to see how silly I was to think that I’ll never drive along EDSA. Well, I just did – on my first day of driving experience!

Speaking of stuff that I love, I purchased this very chic yet affordable brush set from Suesh Cosmetics when I attended their personal make-up class last Saturday. The package fee is worth PhP3,200 which already includes the brushes and purple pouch. You can also buy this set separately for PhP2,200. The bristles are made from fine goat, squirrel, and pony hair –the types of animal hair that are best for human skin in applying makeup. Just a year ago, I purchased a Smashbox foundation brush worth PhP2,000++ from Beauty Bar. Yes, this is only one piece of brush. Set aside brand name, I can say that Suesh is not very far behind in terms of quality. Truly a best buy!

I also want to share some of the photos I took during the 4-hour workshop at the Suesh Showroom and Studio in Greenhills. Pretty neat purple theme!

Some last words for my readers. If you decide to buy this brush set, I highly recommend picking up one of Suesh professional brush cleaner at the studio. It will help prolong the lifespan, quality and softness of the brush hairs. Another best buy is Suesh professional make-up remover.

Awww, thanks Bev! Glad you liked it. Which workshop do u want to attend? They offer one-on-one sessions by appointment for their personal make-up class but of course, it’s also fun to try on make-up with girlfriends. 😉 I’m also thinking of attending their advanced make-up workshop but I haven’t fully decided on this one yet.

    All About Us

Our wedding theme was ‘All About Us’. It wasn’t really difficult to choose our motif because all we had to think about were our favorite colors – purple & blue. It was a perfect combination! Check out our wedding video for a glimpse of our very special day. I hope that this may inspire soon-to-be-married couples.

    Want a Purple Handset?

    Nokia E72 - Amethyst Front

Check this out purpleholics! I discovered this phone from a friend’s tweet. Aside from its purple front, this gadget boasts of its 5 MP (Megapixel) autofocus camera, fully-integrated QWERTY keypad, HSPA (High Speed Packet Access), Wi-Fi, Microsoft Outlook support and synchronization – perfect for emails and instant messaging! You can click the photo above or visit http://www.nokia.com.ph/find-products/products/nokia-e72-products to know more about its specifications and features.

Because I’m a loyal Smart Gold subscriber, I’m going to share how you can get this without having to spend anything! If you are an existing SMART Gold subscriber and is up for retention, you can actually get this handset for free with plan 2500 or above. The same also applies to new connections. Usually, they will issue the Zodium Black or Metal grey color so if you want this in Amethyst, make sure you specify this with the frontliner and have him or her indicate this in your application form. Typically, there’s a waiting period of two weeks but then again, it all depends on the unit’s availability and your patience. 🙂

Go visit their site for more information http://smart.com.ph/gold/.

    The Foldable Shoes

    Suelas Shoes

Who wouldn’t want a shoe that can look cute with jeans, shorts and skirts? These pretty skimmers from Suelas are great examples of the kind of shoe I’m talking about, and it’s available in loads of great colors and styles! I discovered this shoe brand during one of my random browsing sessions on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I’ve been searching for the perfect pair that will not only look good on my feet but will also feel comfortable during long walks.

I happened to chance upon a post of a fellow blogger and saw the cool testimonials of those who bought ‘Suelas’. I proceeded to its official website (http://www.suelasonline.com) and ta-da! I got myself a couple of Safari-inspired pairs.

Here are some of the reasons why I consider my new skimmers a great buy:

    • They are super-comfy yet stylish. Comes in various styles and sizes.
    • It has been designed to take up very minimal space in your luggage or tote bag because it can be flattened, folded and/or rolled – perfect for jetsetters!
    • I personally find the price range reasonable enough – PHP 799 to PHP 1,099.
    • Its packaging is proudly made by Gawad Kalinga – it empowers the Payatas community by encouraging social entrepreneurship.
    • My transaction was totally hassle- and worry-free. The owner promptly replied to my questions after I sent her a text message. You also have a choice to have the item/s shipped or picked up at their specified locations.
    • The shoe linings and inner soles are PURPLE and made of soft velvet material which has the ability to pull moisture away. Here’s a helpful tip for you! Use a foot spray to protect your feet against bacteria, sweat and odour. I love how Beauty Formulas’ Foot Spray keeps my feet dry.

    Enjoy shopping!

    What’s in a Purple?

    Common Shades of Purple

    Common Shades of Purple

I didn’t like purple as a child. In fact, my ultimate favorite was pink. I fought for my life (literally and figuratively) when I was a kid just to own the title of “Pink 5”! It wasn’t until college when I discovered my liking for the color purple. I guess my circle of friends influenced me the most – Mrose & Ivy are both die hard fans of it. Since then, I developed a strong attraction to anything that’s virtually purple – hand bags, purses, shoes, tops, dresses, office supplies, hair accesories, make-up, toilettries, beauty products, etc. I usually go for the purple packaging if I have to decide between two things that I really like. A classic example would be shampoo products. I’m the type who always tries out something new for my mane so I keep changing my brand every other month. If I want to try out something new, trust that you’ll find me in the “purple section”. This month, I’m using Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths which I got from S&R a couple of weeks ago. If you haven’t seen it yet, it has a lilac-colored bottle cover!

At this point, I know I’ve convinced you that this is my ultimate favorite color. Don’t get me wrong. I still appreciate other colors like pink and some hues of blue. I’ve not gone ‘that’ mad about purple (yet, I think)!

So what’s in a purple? I believe that everything has its own meaning. I decided to check with my favorite expert, Google.

    Purple Meaning

Purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation.

Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the ideal color. Most children love the color purple. Purple is the color most favored by artists. Thursday’s color is purple.

Violet is the color of purpose. Violet is associated with the Crown Chakra (This links individual and universal).

    Violet Energy

Violet is a combination of blue and red. Red is a focusing, dynamic and active energy while blue is cooling, calming and expansive. Violet brings a new dynamic to the expansion of blue and the activity of red. Red brings practicality to the undirected expansiveness of the blue, and allows more creative energy to emerge. For this reason, violet is associated with imagination and inspiration.

Violet is an important energy for those who use blue and indigo skills in the psychic field. The red in violet offers a grounding effect.

Put some purple in your life when you want:

    – to use your imagination to its fullest

    • to re-balance your life
    • to remove obstacles
    • to calm overactivity or to energize from depression

    Wearing Purple

Wear purple when you want to encourage fantasy, mystery and imagination.

To sum it all, I love this color because it symbolizes creativity, inspiration and royalty. It is for this very reason why I was INSPIRED to get CREATIVE in writing about everything that matters to me. Of course, I wouldn’t mind feeling ROYAL while blogging. After all, purple is Cleopatra’s favorite color!

    Happy reading!
